About the Role
The Finance Manager will be responsible for overseeing the company’s financial operations, including accounting processes, financial reporting, budgeting, cash flow management, and compliance. This role is critical in ensuring accurate financial information is available for strategic decision-making and that all statutory and regulatory obligations are met.
You will work closely with management teams, auditors, and regulators, providing financial insights and driving improvements in financial processes and systems. Your expertise will ensure the organisation’s financial health is maintained while supporting operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Review monthly accounting processes, reconciliations, and management reports.
Manage cash flow, investments, and payment approvals.
Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
Oversee statutory and regulatory returns including FSCA, SARS, Reserve Bank, Prudential Authority, and NAMFISA.
Reconcile all control accounts, balance sheets, and income statements monthly.
Prepare annual financial statements in accordance with IFRS.
Liaise with internal and external auditors.
Implement and improve financial systems, processes, and internal controls.
Provide financial insights and reporting to regional managers.
Requirements
CA(SA) qualification (essential)
Minimum 2 years’ post-articles experience (Financial Services or Short-Term Insurance preferred)
Proficient in MS Excel
Experience with accounting software such as Great Plains, SAP, or Accpac (advantageous)
Strong analytical, numerical, and communication skills
Deadline-driven, organised, and a collaborative team player
