Dis-Chem Pharmacies, a trusted name in South Africa’s retail pharmacy sector, is seeking experienced Casual Cashiers for their Mall of Africa stores in Midrand, Gauteng. This part-time role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals who enjoy working in a fast-paced retail environment and providing exceptional customer service. Casual Cashiers play a vital role in ensuring a world-class shopping experience by efficiently handling transactions and maintaining a secure, friendly checkout process.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver outstanding customer service while maintaining professionalism
Process transactions accurately using the Dis-Chem operating system
Handle cash, cards, vouchers, and loyalty programs in line with company SOPs
Monitor and maintain cash flow, ensuring all money is safely secured in the till
Address customer queries and resolve complaints promptly
Ensure all outgoing stock and scripts are scanned and paid for
Follow all security policies and standard operating procedures
Participate in daily housekeeping and maintain a safe work environment
Execute price changes, line voids, and merchandise exchanges under supervision
Promote current sales and store promotions to maximize revenue

Essential Requirements:
Grade 12 / Matric certificate
Minimum of 6 months cashier or till operations experience
Computer literacy, especially MS Office
Strong numerical skills
Excellent command of English (written and oral)
Basic customer service skills
Willingness to work retail hours, including weekends and holidays
Competencies:
Knowledge of cash register operations and payment processing
Accuracy and attention to detail
Trustworthiness and honesty in handling cash
Time management and accountability
Emotional intelligence and social awareness
Problem-solving skills and ability to follow instructions
Presentable and professional demeanor
Advantageous:
Knowledge of a third language is a plus
Special Conditions of Employment:
Must have reliable transport or live near Mall of Africa
South African citizenship required
