The Phillipi Branch in Cape Town invites disciplined and professional Grade C Security Officers to join its growing operations team. Purpose of the Role
The Security Officer is responsible for maintaining a safe environment, preventing unauthorised access, and ensuring the protection of company and client premises. The role demands alertness, discipline, and a commitment to standard operating procedures.
Your main goal will be to deter potential security breaches, monitor movement on site, and accurately report all incidents or irregularities. In this position, you are not just a guard — you are a crucial front-line representative of Fidelity’s reputation for trust and safety.
Minimum Qualifications & Experience
To qualify for this position, applicants must meet the following requirements:
Minimum of Grade 10 school qualification.
PSiRA Grade C certificate, valid and registered.
At least 2 years’ experience in the security industry.
No criminal record (regular screening will apply).
Physically fit and medically capable of performing duties.
Must reside within the Cape Town area where the position is advertised.
These requirements ensure that all Fidelity officers maintain the highest standards of professional readiness and public trust.
Key Areas of Responsibility
Security Officers will be required to carry out the following core duties:
Patrolling: Monitor designated areas on foot or by vehicle to prevent theft, damage, or suspicious activities.
Safeguarding: Protect personnel and assets by maintaining a visible and alert presence.
Access Control: Manage entrance and exit points, verify identities, and log all visitors and deliveries.
Incident Reporting: Complete daily logs and submit comprehensive reports on any unusual events.
Register Completion: Maintain accurate records of patrols, equipment checks, and visitor registers.
Emergency Response: React quickly to alarms and emergencies, following Fidelity protocols.
General Duties: Perform any standard functions as outlined in training modules and as required by the site supervisor.

Capable of following instructions and standard operating procedures accurately.

Working Conditions
Permanent employment within the Phillipi Branch operations team.
Shift and weekend work may apply depending on client requirements.
Outdoor and indoor patrol assignments are to be expected.
Regular fitness assessments and performance reviews will form part of your employment.
