Dis-Chem Pharmacies is looking for a reliable and hardworking Cleaner to join the team at Merino Mall. This permanent position offers the chance to work in a leading South African retail environment where quality, hygiene, and service excellence are valued.
Purpose of the Role
The Cleaner will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and hygiene of all store areas, ensuring a safe and pleasant shopping experience for customers and a healthy work environment for staff.
Minimum Requirements
Essential:
Grade 12 / Matric
Minimum of 6 months’ cleaning experience
Sound command of English
Basic customer service skills
Willingness to work retail hours
Advantageous:
Bilingual (especially in local languages)
Prior retail cleaning experience
Key Responsibilities
Maintain a high standard of hygiene and cleanliness throughout the store, including shop floor, stock room, canteen, and admin offices.
Follow daily cleaning routines before the store opens.
Ensure restrooms and canteen are stocked and cleaned regularly.
Use the correct cleaning materials and equipment for each area.
Display wet floor signage when required for safety compliance.
Assist customers when needed in a friendly and professional manner.
Comply with all Health and Safety regulations.
